What is a disability enterprise?
An Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) is a not-for-profit business that employs people with a disability.
Disability Enterprises offer similar working conditions as other employers and an opportunity for people with a disability to contribute and connect to their local community.
Many provide training and supported employment opportunities in an inclusive environment, offering a wide range of services and products.
As not-for-profits, the distribution of profits received in the enterprise are reinvested in the enterprise, in programs, or community initiatives to improve quality of life and employment opportunities for people with a disability through training, equipment upgrades and improvements to facilities.
